The Ontario’s Highlands Tourism Organization (OHTO) staff and board are excited to announce the 2024 virtual Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 9 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. This year’s AGM invites tourism operators and stakeholders to join OHTO as we “Remember When,” reflecting on where we’ve been, how it has shaped the present, and help prepare the sector for a prosperous and sustainable future.
On the agenda for this year’s AGM is an opportunity for tourism operators and stakeholders to learn more about OHTO’s programs, including the 2024 Remember When marketing campaign and “Wander Sustainably” responsible tourism approach.
“We are very excited to welcome tourism operators and stakeholders at our 2024 AGM. The AGM is a time to make connections and learn more about how to engage with OHTO to support the growth of tourism in the region,” said Nicole Whiting, Executive Director for OHTO. “We invite our members and anyone else interested in strengthening communities through tourism to join us.”
A highlight of the event will be a presentation from keynote speaker, Ben Vadasz of Destination Think. Vadasz’s presentation will focus on Collaboration: How We Can Turn the Global Spotlight on Local Initiatives, in which Ben will share best practice examples, solutions, and impacts to help local communities and businesses go further, faster, together.
Vadasz is a seasoned tourism industry expert with over a decade of experience, and co-founder and partner with Destination Think, a globally recognized leader in destination marketing focused on bringing innovative destination marketing strategies, creative services, and integrated marketing solutions to the tourism industry.
Event information, including links to register online, can be found on OHTO’s website at www.ohto.ca/agm. This event is free and both members and non-members of OHTO are invited to attend and join the tourism conversation in Ontario’s Highlands.
OHTO’s Board of Directors welcomes energetic, positive and collaborative strategic thinkers to contribute to the growth of tourism in the region by volunteering to serve as a Director of the Board.
