Welcome to Winter in Ontario’s Highlands: December 2016′s CGO Address

The snow and colder weather has finally arrived offering some excellent winter wandering activities just in time for the holidays!

The OHTO Board of Directors recently did some wandering of their own during its’ annual Board Retreat held in Barry’s Bay. Over the course of two-days, we talked about the difference OHTO should make in the world as it relates to growing tourism in Ontario’s Highlands and how we can do a better job of communicating with you – our owners. The feedback received from the October AGM stakeholder session and recently completed Stakeholder Satisfaction Survey has provided us with some good starting points. Over the next few months, the Board will be developing its’ communications plan (or Ownership Linkage Plan in Carver Policy Model language) which includes how we will continue to gather input from members and stakeholders, why we need the input and what we do with it.

Stay tuned for more updates from the OHTO Board as we chart our new course for the future!

Finally, on behalf of the OHTO Board of Directors, I wish you all a joyous holiday season and prosperous 2017!

Melissa Marquardt

Chief Governance Officer, OHTO Board of Directors
