With the recent release of OHTO’s 2016-17 Tourism Destination Development Program (TDPP), now is the time to think about some of those special projects and partnerships that have been brewing in the background of your mind.
As many of you will undoubtedly agree, accessing funding to assist with tourism development initiatives can sometimes be a challenge and quite onerous. Fortunately, OHTO’s TDPP is not. It is a partnership fund designed with the needs of tourism operators and communities in mind in order to support tourism growth to Ontario’s Highlands. The program supports collaborative tourism development initiatives which reflect the Come Wander brand, align with OHTO’s strategic objectives and demonstrate long term benefits to the region.
Is there an experiential product development initiative that you want to get off the ground? Are you a community organization looking to provide training to some of your businesses? Do you have a new festival or event that requires marketing support? Perhaps you require support for community outreach?
Interested applicants should carefully review the new guidelines and eligibility criteria. If the project falls within the listed categories, applicants must first discuss the details of the project with Stephanie Hessel, OHTO’s Tourism Development Coordinator, prior to completing the application.
The TDPP is an excellent program and one that I hope many of you will take advantage of for your business or community.
