The Ontario’s Highlands Tourism Organization’s (OHTO) seasonal campaign invites visitors to throw away their schedules, pull on their mittens, and “Winter Wander” to Ontario’s Highlands this season. Through this nine week campaign, visitors will be encouraged to get outside and embrace the season, to connect with others and celebrate traditions, to cozy up by a warm fire and feel their worries melt away, and to share all of these moments using #WinterWander on Instagram.
The #WinterWander campaign will be delivered primarily through social media platforms and will be supported with a strategic digital advertising investment and media relations programs. OHTO will use social media to promote the region and share stories from the visitor’s point of view.
To entice visitor engagement, nine engagement phases will be used to invite fans to come wander Ontario’s Highlands and share their stories. These phases will pair activity-based images that will resonate visually and verbally. As Instagram has one of the most active and engaged user bases, this is the perfect platform for us to connect with visitors, listen to their story, and build relationships. This campaign will be focusing on Instagram as a way to develop connections with visitors.
