The Power of Collaboration: December 2013 Board Chair Address

Greetings from the Chair!

Despite the hectic pace of the holiday season, I always think it’s an important time of year to stop and reflect on the past and look to the future.  We’ve accomplished so much together as a region since our inauguration in 2010.  We’ve set up an organizational and governance structure that reflects best practices and meets the needs of our members.  At the same time, we’ve developed programs that enhance our ability to collaborate, build our product development, market to our ideal customers and strengthen our workforce skills.

But there is still so much to do!

Going forward, one of the most important goals is to strengthen and build on our collaborative spirit.  Together we can work wonders for our beautiful, exciting and unique region.  Please get involved!  Talk to OHTO staff about how we can work together, and encourage your local tourism operators and other stakeholders to collaborate.  Only through working together as a region can we build our profile, increase tourism receipts and strengthen our tourism industry.  So call the OHTO office any time with your creative, collaborative ideas:  we need to hear from you!

Season’s Greetings from the board and staff of OHTO!
