New Term, New Board: November 2013 Board Chair Address

Greetings from the Chair!

Thank you to everyone who attended our amazing AGM on October 28th in picturesque Tweed and area!  Our guest speaker, Glenn Mandziuk, President and CEO of the Thompson Okanagan Tourism Region in British Columbia provided insightful revelations on how to create a strategic regional direction, while our friends from Almonte, Dan Fallak and Emily Arbour of Small Town Thinking, showed us how we can all make a difference at the municipal level in boosting tourism utilizing the tools of entrepreneurship and today’s creative economy.  A special thanks to our wonderful staff who worked so hard to make the AGM a spectacular success. You can read more about the event here.

We held our first Board meeting of the new term, and I am very honoured to once again be elected to the Board, and chosen to serve as your Chair for this upcoming year.  I look forward this year to improving our performance evaluation systems, detailing our strategic priorities and continuing to support the collaborative product development, workforce development and marketing efforts across the region. You can find the complete list of 2013-2014 Board of Directors posted here.

We will be conducting a member survey once again to solicit your feedback.  However, we are always available to you, our members, for your input – both compliments and suggestions are welcome.  Here’s to another terrific year in Ontario’s Highlands!
