Travel Media Relations: What is a FAM Tour?

Would you like to share your tourism story with the public? Or maybe generate buzz about new improvements happening with your business or region? All of this can be accomplished in one effective manor, and you won’t have to search for marketing dollars in order to do it. Media Relations is one of the most effective ways to spread news and lure new business as a result. Many studies find people to have more trust in editorials that have a personalized touch, than they do for marketing advertisements.

If you’ve already taken the steps to finding the right travel media located in your target markets, and you’ve invited them to come experience your region or product, the next step is building a FAM Tour itinerary. A FAM Tour involves hosting media, or maybe non-media such as tour operators or travel agents, in an effort to create awareness of the experiences you offer.

Our partner, Rideau Heritage Route, has kindly provided an all-in-one-guide to building your own FAM tour. Why not give it a read, and consider the benefits that hosting media on a FAM Tour could bring for your organization or business.
