Pembroke, ON (August 2, 2011) – The Ontario’s Highlands Tourism Organization (OHTO) is looking to expand their team of tourism-industry specialists by hiring a Tourism Development and Industry Relations Coordinator. The OHTO is seeking a results-oriented professional to coordinate tourism development projects and strengthen industry relationships in the region. This is a full time contract position beginning September 5, 2011.
“Our current staff consists of experts in management, marketing and communications, and administration,” says Nicole Whiting, OHTO Manager. “Having an employee that is focused on product development and liaising with our members and tourism industry partners is the next piece of the puzzle that optimizes the positive impact we can have on visitation to the region.”
The Tourism Development and Industry Relations Coordinator will be responsible for the coordination of tourism development projects, including workforce development and training, tourism product development, research and benchmarking, industry communications, and business resource development. The OHTO is a not-for-profit organization mandated by the Province of Ontario to increase tourism within the counties of Haliburton, Lanark, and Renfrew and portions of Frontenac, Hastings, and Lennox and Addington.
