The PrTDF is a process created by the Ontario Ministry of Tourism and Culture and is designed to assist destinations in determining their competitive position in the tourism marketplace.
The process attempts to inventory and assess all the tourism assets within a destination thereby indicating the product and experience gaps and opportunities that exist. A comprehensive tourism audit was completed in the fall of 2010 for the OHTO’s tourism region.
A series of observations and recommendations have been made and then validated by an industry working group. The PrTDF Report paints a clear picture of the areas where product and experience development are required.
This information about the tourism industry gives the OHTO a road map that will guide future product development initiatives, both regionally and sub-regionally. The final report was released at the end of May 2011, and is available at http://issuu.com/ontarioshighlands/docs/ohto-premier-ranked-may2011 or as a PDF below.
