Creating regional awareness through digital media

(Pembroke, ON) – In an ongoing effort to promote the Ontario’s Highlands region as a tourist destination, an area which includes the counties of Frontenac, Haliburton, Hastings, Lanark, Lennox and Addington, and Renfrew, the Ontario’s Highlands Tourism Organization (OHTO) will be creating a digital media catalogue with assets to be used regionally to internationally in various marketing initiatives. To facilitate the creation of this catalogue, the OHTO is pleased to announce that Tofflemire Photography has been announced as the photographer of record, and Crowe Productions has been contracted to produce a series of tourism-themed web videos.

“Digital media assets will increase awareness about the region, promote the region as a tourism destination, and support the region’s tourist attractions,” asserts Nicole Whiting, OHTO Manager. “Having these images available will help us define the area to a variety of audiences. We are especially looking to enrich our online presence with the videos that are created.”

The digital media catalogue is one of several projects the newly-formed OHTO is working on to increase tourism to the area. Other projects have included increasing the regional profile of Ontario’s Highlands in Ontario’s only comprehensive French-language travel directory, L’Ontario en fran├žais, and the upcoming Disney Institute customer service training seminars for local tourism operators.
